My Election 2010 Web site launched

I just uploaded my first version of my Election 2010 Web site. It's a rewrite of my 2006 site, with updated content and issues. A bit of a quick job, but adequate, I think, and a chance to learn the new Expression Web 4 software I recently got.

It still needs some new photos, which I hope to get this weekend. Perhaps I could get one of me at the hole on our main street that could have been Admiral Collingwood Place? Or sitting on the sidewalk in front of a restaurant where a patio used to be?

You can view it at: www.ianchadwick.com/election2010/. I have a direct link for PayPal if you feel generous enough to donate to my campaign that way. You can also contact me to donate the old-fashioned way by cheque. All donations are sincerely appreciated.

I expect I'll have more to add to it later, and probably some refining to so, as well. If candidates get the sort of question lists we got last term, I'll include them, too.

Constructive feedback and comments are always welcome.

Great Site!!

"Good policy is good politics." Chretien

It's time to once again see good politicians developing good policies for our fabulous little town. You have my support.
Yes - please update the pics. You haven't looked that youthful and vibrant for at least 15 years...

Susan, however, hasn't changed...
Great site Ian. I wish you success on Oct. 25. The public deserves to be listened to and respected. There were 5 at the table who didn't ever consider public opinion to be important. Hell, they didn't even listen to the advice of staff. One at the table, McNabb, said HE had assessed the fire safety issues with the patios and deemed curbside patios to be safe. Apparently he knows better than our Fire Chief. WTF!

Labelle claims the safest path is a straight line. Perhaps someone should help him redesign his store since nothing there is in a straight line. WTF!

Jefferey claims time will tell if the patio decision was correct. She wants the restaurant owners to spend gobs of money to find out if she was right and if she wasn't... oops! WTF!

At least McNabb responds to e-mail queries. Sandberg's site, established for his run at the presidency of AMO, has an e-mail address and he encourages members to send comments or questions ensuring them he will respond. He never, to my knowledge, ever responds to e-mail from Collingwood citizens! WTF! We pay for his computer

There are lots of e-mails circulating and being enjoyed by many of us. They were sent by McNabb, Labelle, and Jefferey in response to e-mail comments concerning patios. I've seen several.

Here's to a better council and a better Collingwood!
Thanks for the kind words. I have updated it to include new content. New photos will have to wait - was visiting my mother in her nursing home this weekend.
I've done an update recently, with a new Javascript menu system and a reorganization. I've been wrestling with CSS versus Java for the menus. CSS can create some nice menus, doesn't have all the features or flexibility of Java. Java, however, does generate that annoying message in Internet Explorer about blocked content. Doesn't matter how you set IE, whether you tell it a site is safe or not, it always blocks scripts on the first access. So just allow blocked content and you'll see what I've done. New photos this weekend!
