All-Candidates' meeting, Sept 22

Just a reminder: the municipal all-candidates' meeting will be held Sept. 22 at the Royal Canadian Legion, Ontario Street, starting at 7 p.m. Expect at least two hours. Televised.

Because Dale West just filed his nomination papers, we have 18 people seeking a place at the table as councillor. With 4 candidates for mayor and 2 for deputy mayor as well, the all candidates' meeting will likely yield very little insight for us voters who don't know all those running. Is there any way the meeting could take place over 2 nights with mayor and deputy mayor hopefuls one night and councillor candidates another? Without enough information, I will vote only for those whose platforms I know and agree with which isn't fair to newcomers.

The meeting is hosted by the Chamber of Commerce. the Chamber sets up the format, not council or the town. You'd have to ask them about any changes.I agree - it's an awkward format and will be a looooong night.
