Lyn, Triumph did not make the Bonneville until 1959, see if you can read the engine number located L/H side(sitting on the bike )where the cylinder joins the crankcase. and frame number which may also throw some light(located around the headstock) if you post these numbers members will tell exactly whats what. Sorry, Preunit. I seem to have repeated what you already said, didn't see the duplicate posts. At least the fact that I've got grey hair will be news to Lyn.

Sorry, Preunit.

No problem, two heads are better than one, if Lyn comes up with the numbers maybe we can help her.

Lyn. What it looks to me that you have there is a 1957 Thunderbird. Frame and engine numbers both match 1957 in my book but maybe some of the other members can come up with a bit more information. Happy and safe riding .

Lyn, Thunderbirds are very well known and i am afraid not rare but a 57 in good condition is quite rare. The engine should be a single carb version and pre unit ie gearbox and engine not cast as one. It is a well proven engine with slightly lower compression than its brother the T110. If you can find a movie buff, Marlon Brando rode a Tbird in a movie from the 50s there is quite a well known picture of him sitting on it. Spares should be readily available look on EBay (US).
