Down at the bottom of the page, on the right side of the main page, you should see two new components of the sidebar. One is a daily chess problem (there are actually three problems in different levels of difficulty, accessed by clicking L1, L2 and L3) from Shredderchess.com. Just click and drag the pieces to solve.
The other is a word-of-the-day display from the Free Dictionary. When someone uses today's word in a post, why not add a point to his/her reputation? Remove a point if it's misspelled or used incorrectly.
I'm working on adding a few other custom items - perhaps a news headline feed, or a Jalisco weather report. There are many opportunities, if I can find suitable code - what would you like to see added?
I've also added the chess problem and a different word-of-the-day to the blog sidebar block options. Had to use a different app because the blog feature doesn't like the javascript coding in the first. But the second one works fairly well.
If you're not already aware of it, all members have access to the blog system. Create your blog through your own user control panel. If you need help creating one or posting, email me. I encourage members to use it and keep yours up-to-date.
